The Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation (FIBAA) is an internationally oriented European Institution for quality assurance and development in higher education. FIBAA aims to develop strict assessment guidelines for quality assurance in the field of higher education. The FIBAA international accreditation process goes through various stages in order to get a certificate and be recognized as an internationally accredited study program. This stage starts from the Self Evaluation Report (SER) document assessment process and the interview process with FIBAA representatives with lecturers, alumni, staff and students. Apart from being an international accreditation institution, FIBAA has also been registered with the Ministry of Education and Culture.

International Accreditation Field Assessment Activities FIBAA Religious Studies Study Program which was held on October 18-20, 2022. This assessment is an interview stage and a visit by the FIBAA team to UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. On this occasion, the Religious Studies Study Program joined Cluster 2 along with the Islamic Education Study Program and the Arabic Language and Literature Study Program. On October 18, 2022, the interview was held at 09.00 - 18.15 WIB, opening and interviewing the Rector, Dean and Religious Studies Study Program of UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. This accreditation process thoroughly considers aspects of the academic program of the Institute, faculty, research, teaching methods, facilities and other aspects that support the quality of education that will be received by students.

After a long assessment process, on March 28, 2023 FIBAA officially sent the accreditation results of 18 study programs. One of these 18 study programs is the Religious Studies study program which is part of cluster 2. This accreditation certificate was ratified in Bonn Germany and is valid until March 21, 2028. According to Dr. Dian Nur Annas, the head of the study program, the acquisition of the FIBAA certificate shows that the Religious Studies study program is a study program that is able to compete internationally. This long struggle and long wait has produced satisfactory results with several important notes. This accreditation brings Religious Studies and UIN Sunan Kalijaga in general towards a World Class University. Hopefully with the achievement of FIBAA Accreditation, it will be able to increase the interest of high school students both at home and abroad to become students of the Religious Studies study program.

Through this FIBAA International accreditation certification, the Religious Studies study program confirms that SAA is a favorite and excellent study program in Indonesia. Not only the Religious Studies Study Program that achieved FIBAA Accreditation at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta but 18 Study Programs: Islamic Studies (Ph.D.), Arabic Language Education (S1), Islamic Education (S1), Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Teacher Education (S1), Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Teacher Education (S2), Early Childhood Islamic Education (S1), Early Childhood Islamic Education (S2), Islamic Education Management (S1), Hadith Science (S1), Communication Science (S1), Quran and Tafsir Science (S1), Aqidah and Islamic Philosophy (S1), Islamic Guidance and Counseling (S1), Islamic Community Development (S1), Sociology (S1), Sharia Banking (S1), Sharia Financial Management (S1) achieved the accreditation.
