Reconnecting Interfaith Relationships, Religious Studies Students Visit FTW Sanata Dharma.

Wednesday, September 14, 2022, Religious Studies Students of the Faculty of Ushuluddin UIN Sunan Kalijaga visited the Faculty of Theology Wedabhakti (FTW) Sanata Dharma. Located at KM 7 Jl. Kaliurang, specifically in the tomb pavilion of St. Paul's Tinggi Seminary Kentungan, this visit was also attended by several Theology students from Duta Wacana Christian University (UKDW).

As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, this was the first visit after always attending virtually. This meeting aimed to rebuild community ties that had been broken for a long time.

"We hope that this visit will revive the long-lost relationship that has been dead for a while," said Ahmad Nanang Nurfadilah, Network and Communication Coordinator of HMPS Studi Agama-Agama.

Simpul Lintas Iman Community (SIM-C) itself is a community consisting of three universities, namely: Sanata Dharma University (Faculty of Theology), Duta Wacana Christian University, and UIN Sunan Kalijaga, dedicated to the exchange of religious ideas between people of different faiths.

The current chairman of SIM-C, Frater Iyoks, said that this meeting was a golden opportunity to realize the interfaith agendas of both the Faculty of Theology Wedabhakti, Duta Wacana Christian University, and UIN Sunan Kalijaga. In addition, SIM-C needs to be promoted on each campus to ensure that recruitment and cadre activities are carried out along the way.

It is hoped by the presenters that this meeting will be the first step towards establishing other collaborations, either between communities or between universities.
