The Student Association of the Religious Studies Study Program (HMPS SAA) UIN Sunan Kalijaga, has held a webinar discussion series batch #1 on Saturday (13/3/2021). This webinar was attended by more than 40 participants, who came from students and the general public, with the grand theme "Seeing Religion Further". As for the sub-themes in the discussion series batch #1, namely "Religious Diseases of Urban Society" with the speaker Dr. Dian Nur Anna, S.Ag., M.A..

According to Muhammad Fauzi, Chairperson of HMPS SAA, this webinar was carried out as a form of implementation of the work program of HMPS SAA in order to explore and add insight, both at the student level and the general public in order to see religion from various perspectives.

"This discussion series is a concrete manifestation of the management of HMPS SAA for the 2021/2022 period, namely in order to invite students and society in general, how to see religion from various perspectives. So that religion is not only seen as something sacred, mystical, or sacred. Keep in mind, the series of religious conflicts that have recently occurred have tarnished the dignity of religion. Therefore, this discussion series is a form of responsibility for Religious Studies students to open their views that religion is not as bad as the allegations circulating, "said Fauzi (13/3/2021).

Technically, this discussion series will be held in six meetings for three consecutive months. Namely every Friday at 15.30-16.00 WIB, on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month, in March, April and May. For each meeting, one sub-theme will be raised. Thus, there are a total of six sub-themes that are discussed in relation to religion.

For the sub-themes raised in the discussion, in order are 'Religious Diseases of Urban Society', 'Religion as a Mental Health Solution', 'The Fate of Religious People in the Era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0', 'Religion in the midst of European Materialism', 'Minority Religions and Indonesian identity politics', and 'Geneology of New Religious Movements'.

Long before the discussion series batch #1 was held, Fauzi had visited and asked for advice from Dr. Dian Nur Anna, S.Ag., M.A., as the Head of the Religious Studies Study Program. That he also appreciates and fully supports the agenda that will be carried out by HMPS SAA. In fact, he also offered to Fauzi, if in the future there are obstacles related to the implementation of this discussion series, then do not hesitate to ask him for help.
