Description Religion and gender are two concepts that are interrelated and have a significant impact on social, cultural and individual life. Both relate to identity, social roles, and recognition received in society. The relationship between religion and gender can vary greatly depending on religious teachings, cultural traditions, and the social context in which they are applied. The main materials discussed in this course are Religious Views on Gender; Social and Cultural Norms Shaped by Religion; Religion and Women's Rights; Gender Challenges in Religion, and Religion and LGBT and Transgender Issues.
