| Description | "This course is an introduction to various interpretative approaches to the Qur'an and other Scriptures and texts and application of the principles of interpretation to the texts representing the various genres of the Qur'an and other texts. This course also analyzes and explains the development of methods for interpretation, tafsir and different approaches for Quranic hermeneutics. It investigates the presuppositions, principles and methodology, aiming for how to understand the Sacred Scriptures. It covers a review of the allegorical, textual criticism, literary, sociological, ideological and cultural criticisms, intertextuality and thematic studies approaches. " |
